Stop Veteran Suicide, Heal Brains, & Restore Lives

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to Heal United States Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury

Healing Veterans One Breath at a Time

After selflessly serving in the military to protect our country, too many of our nation’s heroes have spent years suffering from debilitating neurological damage from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). All too often, hidden brain injuries drive a Veteran to take their own life to end the agony.

According to the Costs of War Project at Brown University, there have been 30,177 suicides among US service members & Veterans of post-9/11 wars, almost 4 times the number killed in military operations (7,057). Operation Deep Dive, a 2022 America’s Warrior Partnership and Duke University study recently identified that 44 military Veterans die each day from suicide, a number that is 2.4 times higher that what the VA reports as the national suicide rate.

Recognizing this critical issue, NC Senate Bill 442 appropriated funds to provide Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for North Carolina Veterans suffering from TBI and/or PTSD. According to the 2021 report, this program has demonstrated an astounding 95% efficacy rate of HBOT among NC Veterans.

HBOT4Heroes is a non-profit organization dedicated to making the treatment of TBIs and PTSD affordable and available to those who have served in the United States Military by expanding HBOT treatment access and availability across the state of North Carolina.
