Our Origin Story
From Law to Lifesaving: How HBOT4Heroes Began
We were born from a North Carolina law — and a promise to heal the invisible wounds of war.
A Law that Changed Lives
In 2019, the North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 50 (HB50), the first state law in the nation authorizing the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress (PTS).
That landmark legislation sparked a movement.
Building Hope Through Action
HBOT4Heroes was founded to carry out that mission: to connect veterans with HBOT, fund treatments for those in need, and fight the invisible epidemic of veteran suicide.
From 2021 to 2024, the State of North Carolina provided $1.25 million to support this life-saving work — an important start, but only a fraction of what’s needed. That funding covered care for just a few hundred veterans, while thousands more across the state still wait for help.
Every dollar makes a difference — but it takes a community to bridge the gap between what the state can give and what our heroes truly deserve.
The Challenge We Face
Today, as North Carolina continues to operate under a continuation budget and no new 2025 funding has been secured, the need has never been greater.
Even when state support is available, it’s limited, temporary, and uncertain — and it’s never enough to meet the growing demand for treatment. That’s why our program survives on generosity from private donors, corporate sponsors, and compassionate community members who refuse to let our veterans fight alone.
When government support falls short, you make healing possible.
The Science of Hope
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy delivers 100% oxygen under increased pressure, triggering the body’s natural healing response. For veterans with TBI and PTSD, HBOT has been shown to improve sleep, mood, focus, and overall quality of life — when nothing else works.
			Join the Mission
You don’t need a uniform to serve. You just need heart. Together, we can stop suicide and restore lives — one oxygen session at a time.
